Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs →

Is it really secure?
Yes. You mark redactions in your browser. You open and mark PDFs in your browser. When you click Apply redaction, the file is sent over HTTPS to our secure redaction service, processed in memory, and returned. We do not store PDFs on disk or in a cloud inbox. We do not keep a cloud copy of your PDF.
What is the difference between redaction and blacking out?
RedactPDF removes extractable text inside your boxes and burns in black fills on export. Other text on the page stays searchable. Hybrid PDFs (text + images) can use secure mode for image-heavy pages.
Is it legal for court documents?
RedactPDF helps you remove visible content, but court rules vary by jurisdiction. Consult your legal team for compliance requirements before filing.
Is RedactPDF GDPR compliant?
We do not store PDFs after processing. Transient HTTPS redaction supports data minimization; you remain the data controller and must verify outputs before sharing.
